The University of Law – Entry Requirements

As well as the appropriate academic qualifications required to enter the University of Law’s LLB, GDL, and MA law courses, the international applicant will have to show proof of fluency in spoken and written English. From 2018 the University of Law began to offer seven and twelve-week pre-sessional English courses for its undergraduate and postgraduate students. Students who have the equivalent to a UK degree from what is classified as a majority English speaking country need not produce proof of their English fluency. These countries are Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.

International student applicants to the University of Law from non-majority English-speaking countries will need to send a certified copy of an approved English language test at the following levels, depending on the course for which they are applying.2 year LLB students require IELTS 7.0 with no component below 6.5; this corresponds to an ISE III; a Pearsons score of 65, with no component below 58; a Cambridge English First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency of 185, a Cambridge English Advanced level Grade B. 3 year LLB students require IELTS 6.5, no component lower than 6.0, Pearsons 58 (no lower than 51).

The University of Law – How To Apply

Applications to the University of Law should be made either through the UK’s UCAS (University and College Admissions) organisation or directly, through one of the University of Law’s educational agents. The University of Law – Scholarships

From September 2018 the University of Law, in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign will offer four merit-based postgraduate scholarships each worth £5,500 to potential students from China who wish to study the following courses: Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL); Legal Practice Course (LPC); MA Law; LLM Legal Practice (Conflict Resolution); LLM Legal Practice (Intellectual Property); MSc Strategic Business management.
